Ahmad Khan, MD
Dr Khan is board–certified in Thoracic Surgery (ABTS). A 1999 graduate of New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, Dr Khan completed his General Surgery Residency at Christiana Care Health Systems in Newark, Delaware, in 2004; he was awarded Trauma Resident of the Year in 2003 during his residency. He finished a Cardiovascular Surgery Clinical Fellowship at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in 2005. His Thoracic Surgery Residency was completed at Maimonides Medical Center/SUNY(Downstate) in 2007.
He was an active Cardiac and Thoracic surgeon at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) in Charleston, West Virginia from 2007 to 2014, during which he performed over 300 major operations annually, over 200 of them being major cardiac procedures annually. He proved a major force in initiating and establishing the CAMC Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Program. Upon Dr Khan’s departure from CAMC, the TAVR program had completed 60 TAVR procedures with exceedingly good outcomes.
Dr Khan joined BCS in 2015 and is currently performing major cardiac operations at both Baptist Health Louisville and Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He joins the Baptist Health TAVR Team as well alongside Dr Pagni.
His surgical interests include valve and coronary procedures, ventricular restoration procedures, and TAVR-related therapies.
