Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery
Baptist Cardiac Surgery is a leader in the region for minimally invasive or “small incision” operations. Our surgeons have pioneered and developed our own minimally invasive techniques, performing more than 500 minimally invasive cardiac surgeries combined. Each of our patients is considered for these procedures, but they are most commonly recommended for isolated mitral and aortic valve repair and replacements, coronary bypass, atrial masses and atrial arrhythmias. Minimally invasive surgery results in less pain, a lower transfusion rate, faster recovery and improved cosmesis (physical appearance) in most patients.
